Rhiannon Johnston is a documentary filmmaker, photographer, and multimedia journalist based in Louisville, Kentucky. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between human social issues and the environmental world.

She graduated with honors from Western Kentucky University with two Bachelor's degrees in Photojournalism and Advertising in May 2025. She was previously a student in the Photo 1 program at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark, during Fall 2024. In the summer of 2024, she was employed as the Chesapeake Bay Program's Multimedia Intern.

Currently, she is employed as the multimedia intern for Friends of Acadia a non-profit organization based in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Rhiannon continues to be open for work in the U.S. and beyond.

From covering a local geocacher's passion to showcasing unique ways to recycle hair, and documenting the tender last moments between a trucker and his mom, she is always learning and striving to understand people. Being outside makes her happy; nature is simple, and through her work, she strives to understand the complexities of human nature.
