Rhiannon Johnston is a visual journalist from Louisville, Kentucky, currently pursuing a double major in Photojournalism and Advertising at Western Kentucky University. She is intrigued by the contrasts between old and new, and urban and rural settings, which fuel her passion for her work.

From covering a local geocacher's passion to showcasing unique ways to recycle hair, and documenting the tender last moments between a trucker and his mom, she is always learning and striving to understand people. Being outside makes her happy; nature is simple, and through her work, she strives to understand the complexities of human nature.

Rhiannon is a current student in the Photo 1 program at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark. She was previously employed as the Chesapeake Bay Program's Multimedia Intern for the summer of 2024.
